Service Description

What is freedom? What does it mean to be free, or to live seeking freedom? How can words (poems, stories, scripts, song lyrics, essays or novels), bring us – and the world – closer to true freedom? This session at The Dreamer’s Desk we will explore literature that digs into these important questions. We will look at poems and prose from influential Black writers such as Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, Audre Lorde and James Baldwin, as well as explore the freedom that might begin with dreams, and the pursuit of those dreams.
