Service Description
What is freedom? What does it mean to be free, and what does it mean not to be free? How can words (poems, stories, scripts, song lyrics, essays or novels), bring us – and the world – closer to true freedom? This session at The Dreamer’s Desk we will explore literature that digs into these important questions, and that simultaneously inspires a feeling of strength and belief. We will look at poems from influential Black writers such as Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes and Nikki Giovani, as well as explore the freedom that begins in dreams, and the pursuit of those dreams.
