Service Description

What is freedom? What does it mean to be free, and how can words (poems, stories, scripts, song lyrics, essays or novels), bring us – and the world – closer to true freedom? This session at The Dreamer’s Desk we will explore writing that digs into these important questions, and that inspires a feeling of strength and belief. We will look at poems from influential Black writers such as Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes and Nikki Giovani, as well as explore the freedom that begins in dreams, imagination, creativity and empathy.
